Exercising is another great anti-inflammatory activity. I know, I know, your knee hurts, so you want to be smart about this. But it’s still true that exercising (for almost everyone) will make that knee feel better.
But, please don’t underestimate how important it is to exercise correctly.
I could talk your ear off about how simply changing the alignment of my feet resulted in a drastic reduction in knee pain. I thought I was doing exercise the right way, and a new trainer showed me I was not. I constantly worked on aligning my feet so they were parallel to each other and not pointed out at all. This was hard to do while walking down stairs, but I took the extra time to do it. I also did a lot of barefoot walking, rolling my foot on a baseball and a superball, and I changed to minimal style tennis shoes. Thank you, Michael Page.
Now I can walk down stairs with no knee pain whatsoever, most of the time. I don’t hesitate to mention that I also included healthy eating and sleeping, as well as some great anti-inflammatory plants such as Chinese skullcap, boswellia, curcumin and noni fruit in the treatment of my own knee pain (Thank you, Solle Naturals.)
